Our Fertility Story
As a young married couple, we never dreamed that we would go through the things that we have faced. In 2001, just after a year of marriage we learned that we were pregnant, only to miscarry the very next day. This happened twice more over the span of three years. After the third miscarriage, Dr. M put me on Clomid – a medication to stimulate ovulation. It worked after the first month. We were pregnant for the fourth time. A few days later, I began having intense pain. We knew it was happening again, but we had no idea what was coming. Dr. M did an ultrasound and didn’t see anything out of the ordinary so he ordered a shot for the pain and sent us home. Hours later we were back. The pain was excruciating and I was sick every couple of minutes. Dr. M did another ultrasound and saw that my abdomen was filled with blood. My tube had ruptured with an ectopic pregnancy. I was rushed to the operating room and upon waking discovered that both fallopian tubes had been removed. Apparently the other was damaged in one of my previous miscarriages and it went unnoticed. Now our only option for biological children is IVF.
So, here we are today, in the process of planning a trip to the Czech Republic through IVF Vacation. Join us on our journey!
